
LONG BEACH, CA. – November 11, 2015 – Long Beach police and fire personnel on Monday helped five people stuck on the Platform Esther, an offshore oil rig near the Seal Beach coast, whom a loose barge threatened.
The rescue was accomplished by Long Beach police officers who used their own craft to stop the much-larger barge from floating toward the oil platform while fire department personnel handled the work of helping people get off the rig…
